This trip to Bucharest is a real city break, and over the weekend you will experience all that the Romanian capital has to offer.
You will tour various sites, looking at churches, do some shopping and eat good food. When in Romania it is tempting to visit the castle where, according to Bram Stoker, Count Dracula lived. There’s a guided tour there and the trip allows for similar experiences which is particularly interesting for those who want to get to know the country. Bucharest also has rich culture and nightlife so there is something for everyone, whether it’s classical music or trendy nightclubs.
Thursday: Arrival in Bucharest and airport pick-up in limousine with drinks and a choice of wine, brut & beer. After check-in at the hotel you will have the opportunity to be shown around the Old Town. You will be given our very own map of Bucharest, with locations of the best restaurants, bars, etc. We will be happy to help out with restaurant bookings and suggestions that best meets your taste.
Friday: Breakfast is available at the hotel from 7:00. Pick-up is at 7:30. Then drive to Castle Bran (Count Dracula’s Castle), arriving around 09: 30 depending on traffic. After a tour of the castle we proceed to Brasov, where we have lunch and afterwards take a tour of the old part of Brasov. At 15:00 we continue on to Castle Peles, and a tour of the premises. The tour is about 45 mins. We’ll be back in Bucharest around 19:00.
Saturday: Pick-up at the hotel at 10:00 for a tour of Bucharest, including the Old Town, Revolution Square, a visit to the Parliament as well as some of Bucharest’s many churches and monasteries. Lunch is at restaurant La Mama. The tour is about 5-6 hours, including lunch.
Sunday: At your disposal, but we’d be happy to help you out with how to spend the day. Here are some of our suggestions: Visit one of Bucharest’s largest spas (prices from 895 kr. for 5 hours incl. treatments) or visit one of Bucharest’s largest parks and enjoy Sunday as one of the locals. You can also visit the Village Museum with old buildings from all over Romania or go shopping in Bucharest’s main shopping center. We will help you arrange everything so that you may enjoy a pleasant weekend. In the evening there is an opportunity to go to a wine tasting.
Monday: Depending on time of departure you may choose to spend the morning sleeping in, strolling around the Old Town or purchasing the last souvenirs before the flight back to your home after a wonderful weekend in Bucharest.
Please note: this is merely our proposal for a weekend trip to Bucharest – obviously we’d like to help create your own special itinerary ensuring you the best possible weekend experience in Bucharest.
